Indian was released in 1996, and became one of the biggest earning Tamil films, perhaps the biggest, till Padayappa came a few years later. The film was also India’s official entry to the Best Foreign Language Film category at the Oscars, and won Kamal Haasan a National Award for his performance as Senapaty, the corruption-fighting father. A.R Rahman’s score added to this film, and sales of the film’s audio track broke records. This particular song isn’t the most popular from the film, but is a lovely number featuring the voice of the great KJ Yesudoss.
