The reasons behind the split are not yet apparent. According to a Deccan Chronicle report, Soundarya’s father Rajinikanth tried to mediate in the issue and settle it amicably. Reportedly, talks failed and Soundarya decided to go ahead with her divorce plans.
Ashwin Ramkumar is a graduate in Civil Engineering from Stanford and hails from a well-connected family in the city. He is the Managing Director of KSV Developers, a construction company in Chennai.

Soundarya Rajinikanth began her career as a graphic designer. She went on to launch and head Ocher Studios, through which she offered a wide range of digital services. The company worked on the animation effects team for SJ Suryah’s Anbe Aaruyire. Through this banner, she also produced Goa. She also directed her father in Kochadaiiyaan, India’s first photorealistic motion capture film. The multi-starrer was not a box office success.
At present, Soundarya is hard at work on her second feature film. Said to be a romantic comedy, the film will likely begin production next year. The news comes close on the heels of Animal Welfare Board of India’s announcement of Soundarya as the newest member to join their organisation.
