Soundarya Rajinikanth‘s next film will be produced by Kalaipuli S Thanu. The filmmaker teased the title of her next on Twitter earlier this month. In a now deleted tweet, the filmmaker posted photos of a rain-drenched Chennai, and paper boats with the abbreviation NEEK.
The filmmaker announced a casting call for this film, yesterday. Soundarya’s spokesperson tells us that the movie will have both, newcomers and experienced artists.
Kalaipuli S Thanu produced Rajinikanth’s latest release, Kabali. It was expected that Thanu would produce Rajini’s next as well, but actor Dhanush was announced as the producer.
Soundarya began work on the film earlier this year. She went on a hiatus after Kochadaiiyaan’s release in 2014 to concentrate on her personal life. Her son, Ved Krishna was born in May 2015.
Soundarya Rajinikanth began her career as a graphic designer. She went on to launch and head Ocher Studios, through which she offered a wide range of digital services. The company worked on the animation effects team for SJ Suryah’s Anbe Aaruyire. Through this banner, she also produced Goa. She also directed her father in Kochadaiiyaan, India’s first photorealistic motion capture film. The multistarrer was not a box office success.
She was appointed as Eros Media International Limited in the capacity of Director, Creative and Strategy. She headed the company’s digital initiatives including Eros Now in South India and was instrumental in securing the audio rights of Kaththi for the company. At present, it is not known if Soundarya is still associated with the company. Earlier this year, Soundarya was appointed to the board of the Animal Welfare Board of India – a move that some people protested.

She recently announced her separation from her husband of six years, Ashwin Ramkumar, a popular businessman.
