Speculations around Rajinikanth’s big announcement reached a fever pitch on Saturday. The actor started interacting with his fans from December 26.
Addressing his fans earlier in Chennai, the actor said that he will announce his political stand on December 31 and would not make any statements whether he is starting a political party or not.
“Politics is not new to me. I hesitate only because I know what politics would entail,” he had said. Clarifying his earlier statements that by “போர் [war]”, he meant politics, Rajini had added that to survive in the field, one also needs discipline and restraint.
Meanwhile, writer and producer Kalaignanam who had worked with the actor in Bairavi, said, “Rajinikanth will announce his political entry on December 31 in front of his fans. He will launch his own party. He will not seek an alliance with other parties. If other parties approach him, he may consider allying with them,” according to The Times Of India.
Actor-director Raghava Lawrence, an ardent fan of the Thalaiva, dedicated a song to him.
