The mortal remains of Sridevi, who died on February 25 in Dubai at the age of 54, is expected to be flown in today to Mumbai.
According to Khaleej Times, her body is currently in the custody of the Dubai Police’s Forensic Department. Officials in Dubai also said that as per protocol, the tests take up to 24 hours in case a person has died outside a hospital. The same safety and administrative protocols are being followed by the police in this case as well.

As of now, officials from the Indian Consulate said that after receiving the Police Clearance and forensic report, the other procedures including, immigration and embalming would be completed in three-four hours. If so, the actress’ body will be flown from Dubai by 3PM, Dubai time.
Her unexpected death has shocked family, friends, and fans, especially considering she had gone to Dubai to attend her nephew Mohit Marwah’s wedding and was seen celebrating in her last videos.

According to Khaleej Times, the day she died, her husband Boney Kapoor had flown in from Mumbai to surprise her. The two had reportedly chatted for 15 minutes at their hotel – Jumeirah Emirates Towers. They had plans to have dinner together later.
The report further adds that Sridevi had gone to the washroom to get ready, but was in there too long, forcing Boney to break open the door. Sridevi was found lying in the bathtub full of water motionless. Attempts to revive her failed soon after the paramedics arrived.
Industrialist Anil Ambani has reportedly sent an aircraft to Dubai to bring back her body to India.
