Silambarasan’s next film has been titled Vantha Rajava Thaan Varuven, after a dialogue that STR uses in Mani Ratnam’s Chekka Chivantha Vaanam. The first look poster of the film has STR sport a new hairstyle and outfits, with a pair of glasses completing the look. Sundar C says that the hero of his film will embody the spirit of the youth today. “The hero is in tune with himself and with the scenario he finds himself in. He is not immature or naive. He is the complete man,” the director told Silverscreen.
A complete commercial entertainer, the film will be a favourite with everybody. “It’s not just for STR fans. It is for everybody. That’s what I told Simbu when we first spoke about the movie. Vantha Rajava Thaan Varuven has something for everybody.”
Shoot of the film began earlier this year, with Silambarasan and Sundar C travelling to Bulgaria to shoot the introduction song. “We had a fun time filming the sequence. STR is a talented dancer. And he’s really amazing in that song. There’s absolutely nothing he won’t try in order to entertain the audience. I guess that’s the result of the decades of experience he has in the industry,” Sundar C added.
Much of the filming has been completed. The team is gearing up to move onto post-production soon. “We have decided to release on Pongal 2019. So we really had to step things up a bit. We will meet that date,” he said.
Incidentally, Ajith Kumar’s Viswasam is also scheduled to release on the same date.

Megha Akash, the female lead of the movie, is a sweet person, Sundar said. “She has an arresting screen presence and it’s really hard to look away when she’s there on the screen. This is probably her third film and already, she is so assured. I’m sure she will go places,” the director said.
Catherine Tresa has an important role in Vantha Rajava Thaan Varuven. Hip Hop Tamizha’s Aadhi and Jeeva have been tasked with composing the music for the project. Lyca Productions’ Subhaskaran is the producer.
