Rajinikanth will not be attending Prime Minister-elect Narendra Modi’s swearing-in ceremony set to begin at 6 pm this evening at Rashtrapathi Bhavan, New Delhi. Reportedly, the superstar is staying away owing to increasing tension amongst Tamil outfits over the invitation issued to Sri Lankan president, Mahinda Rajapakse. However, Rajinkanth’s wife, Latha, will witness the swearing-in ceremony of his “dear friend Narendra Modi”.
Modi had sent a special invitation to the Rajinikanths and had earlier met them at their Poes Garden house when he had come to Chennai to address a rally.
It is not clear whether Rajini’s daughters, Aishwarya and Soundarya, will attend the ceremony.
