The Malaysian government is contemplating asking Superstar Rajinikanth to be the official Tourism Ambassador for the Malacca.
Speaking at the Dewan Rakyat, Minister for Tourism and Culture, Datuk Seri Mohamed Nazri Abdul Aziz proposed the idea of Thalaivar as Ambassador, to which other MPs gave approval, according to an Indian Express report.
Shahrukh Khan has been the official Ambassador since 2008, and has also received a Honorary Datukship in 2011. But the Malaysian government, according to reports, has not been very happy with his performance as tourist inflows have not been satisfactory.
And so, the decision to appoint Rajinikanth.

MP Sim Tong Hin said, “He is very famous and Shah Rukh Khan is not very effective.”
This moves comes on the back of Superstar’s Kabali, shot for the most part in Malaysia, featuring Rajini as a Malaysian don fighting for the rights of other, oppressed Indians.
It is said that Rajinikanth may meet the Malaysian Prime Minister soon to discuss the role.
Meanwhile, 2.0 is on full steam, and is slated to release this Deepavali.
