Malayalam actors Suraj Venjaramoodu and Indrajith Sukumaran will be teaming up for director M Padmakumar‘s upcoming family-emotional thriller.
The film went on floors in Thodupuzha on Thursday. The yet-to-be-titled film is produced by UGM Entertainment. The film’s star cast includes Aditi Ravi and Swasika Vijay in pivotal roles.
Speaking to Silverscreen India, the film’s screenwriter Abhilash Pillai said that the story is based on a true event that happened in Kerala a few years ago. “Though it is a thriller, the story will revolve around a family and its emotions. I believe this film will connect with the audience beyond Kerala,” he said. He said that Suraj and Indrajith’s scenes were being shot and Suraj will have three different looks in this film.
Pillai said that the film was being shot in a controlled setting in Thodupuzha with limited crew members due to the second wave of Covid-19.
“All of the cast and crew underwent RT-PCR test and tested negative.Everyone’s body temperatures are being checked every day. A few big sequences in the film need to be shot in exterior locations, but it will be planned later based on the Covid-19 situation. The movie will also be shot in Kattappana,” he said.

Asked about his collaboration with Padmakumar, Pillai said, “I got an opportunity to meet Padmakumar during the shooting of Mamangam. I narrated this story and he was impressed with it. From there on I developed the screenplay and dialogues.”
Music composer Ranjin Raj will collaborate with Padmakumar for the second time in this film. The film’s technical crew consists of Ratheesh Ram as the cinematographer, Shameer as the editor, and Mafia Sasi as the stunt coordinator.
According to the makers, the film’s first look and the title will be released in May.
