Thaanaa Serndha Koottam will feature veteran actor Suresh Menon, of Pudhiya Mugam fame, in a major role.
Menon spoke to Silverscreen and gave us his reasons for signing on to the Suriya – Vignesh Shivan project. “I’ve been asked to be a part of many films before this. While they ran the gamut, they didn’t really appeal to me. I chose Vignesh’s project because it gives me a larger opportunity. It’s not just a guest appearance. I am not a novelty factor in the movie, but so much more. And in that sense, I loved it. I’ll appear throughout the movie, and my role is very vital to the plot.”

Suresh Chandra Menon has spent the last few years away from the limelight. He runs a popular restaurant in Chennai, and another in Kerala. The actor/director reveals that he also has a major role in the upcoming film, 4G. “In essence, 4G is my comeback. I’ve lost a lot of weight for my return to the silver screen, and I’m looking forward to acting after such a long time.”
4G has him teaming up with actor GV Prakash Kumar. The project went on the floors earlier this year, and is likely to wrap up by early 2017.
Suresh Chandra Menon rose to fame as the director of Pudhiya Mugam. The film, which saw him collaborate on-screen with his then-wife Revathi, featured the iconic AR Rahman composed song ‘Kannukku Mai Azhagu’. Suresh Menon and Revathi separated shortly after, and were granted divorce in 2013.
