Producer Suresh will be playing the villain in Bala’s Tharai Thappattai. The film starring Sasikumar in the lead alongside Varalaxmi Sarathkumar, went on floors recently. Suresh, who has been roped in to play the antagonist, has a very strong author-backed role. He has gone for a complete makeover and sports a full beard now. Based on Karagattam, the movie also features Pragati Guruprasad, who plays Sasikumar’s sister.
The project marks the 1000th film for Ilaiyaraaja, who has composed a very rustic soundtrack for the picture. Filming is currently underway, with Paradesi cameraman Chezhian joining hands with Bala again. TE Kishore is in charge of editing, while Poornima, who won the National Award for her costume design work on Paradesi, is also a part of the flick.
