Suriya, who is currently shooting for Sudha Kongra’s Soorarai Pottrru, has announced his next film, to be directed by Siva. The film, Suriya39, will be produced by KE Gnanavel under the banner of Studio Green.
Gnanavel Raja, who has produced a Suriya’s film in the past, like Sillunu Oru Kaadhal, Massu Engira Maasilamani, Singham 3, and Thanaa Serndha Koottam, spoke to Silverscreen. He said, “We plan to start shooting by June end and release the movie somewhere early next year. Siva has retained his team of technicians from Viswasam for this movie. The camera will be handled by Vetri while editing is taken care of by Ruben.”
Milan is the art director and Dilip Subbarayan is the stunt master on the project. “The female lead of the movie has not been finalized yet,” added the producer. When asked about the plot, the producer said that it was too early to divulge anything. However, it has been reported that unlike Siva’s previous film, this movie will have the story set in the city.
Meanwhile, Suriya has two projects lined up for release this year. The first among them will be Selvaraghavan’s NGK (Nandha Gopala Kumaran). Produced by SR Prabhu under the banner of Dream Warrior Pictures, the movie will feature Suriya in the role of an upcoming political leader. Rakul Preet and Sai Pallavi play the female leads in the film that is scheduled to release on May 31.
His second release of the year will be Kaappaan. Marking his third collaboration with KV Anand, the movie is an action entertainer and features an ensemble cast comprising of Mohanlal, Arya, Sayyeshaa and Samuthirakani. The film is scheduled to release in September or October. The actor is currently shooting for Soorarai Pottrru, the biopic on the life of businessman GR Gopinath, the founder of Air Deccan. Featuring Aparna Balamurali in the female lead, the movie is slated for release next year.
