Last seen in Vignesh Shivan’s Thaana Serndha Kootam, Suriya is awaiting the release of his delayed political entertainer NGK – Nandha Gopala Kumaran directed by Selvaraghavan. The film will hit screens on Tamil New Year (April 14). It was earlier planned for a Pongal release, but was postponed due to the director’s health issues. Recently, the final schedule of the Suriya-starrer Kaapan reportedly began. Directed by KV Anand, the film features Mohanlal, Arya, Sayyeshaa Saigal and Boman Irani in pivotal roles.

Meanwhile, Suriya is working on a film with director Hari for the sixth time, after Vel, Aaru, Singam, Singam 2 and Singam 3. While it was expected that the actor-director duo would collaborate for the next in the Singam franchise, it is said that that their upcoming film is titled Yaanai, a cop drama produced by AVM Studios. Suriya will reportedly be seen as a senior official in the film. The makers will plan sequels if it is successful like the Singam series.
