Bollywood actor Sushant Singh Rajput, in a recent interview, spoke up about his relationship and break-up with long-term girlfriend Ankita Lokhande. The two had met on the sets of their TV show Pavitra Rishta and moved in together before Sushant announced their break-up in May this year. They were together for six years.
While rumours about his personal life don’t bother him, the actor spoke up about how too much attention is given to his relationship status rather than his work. “Either you should wait a while, let the film release and then talk about my relationship. Because I’ve always been very open about my relationship. Then I’ll talk about it. This is not the time. Right now I am on duty, I have to sell my film. I don’t have to talk about my personal life. People should understand,” he said, at a promotional event for his upcoming film MS Dhoni: The Untold Story.
Sushant had often been asked about a new love-interest since the announcement of his break-up with Ankita. It was speculated that he had been having an affair with his co-star Kriti Sanon. Both denied it but rumours continued.
Discussing relationships in Bollywood has always been a hush-hush affair. Nobody speaks about it, allowing speculations to hit the roof adding fodder for the media. Pulkit Samrat, another Bollywood actor who began his career in TV shows, faced a barrage of questions ever since his marriage with Shweta Rohira failed. After the separation, speculations were rife about him dating his co-star Yami Gautam. The two had been seen together cozying-up on the sets and people wouldn’t stop talking about it. Samrat, visibly miffed by this intrusion in his personal life, left Twitter seething and fuming.

This world is full of d**** and we entertain them! The day we stop entertaining them, we are strong! Else, we are weak!

No more tweets! Am done! Thank you for all your love and support! This virtual world was good but not good enough!

Pulkit’s ex-wife Shweta Rohira, who is also recognised as Salman Khan’s rakhi sister, went on to call Yami Gautam a home-breaker, alleging that her marriage failed because of her. Subsequently, Yami and Pulkit’s film Sanam Re garnered little attention compared to the wrecked relationship in question.
Even Ranbir Kapoor, who had been fairly open about his relationship with Katrina Kaif, decided to be more private about his subsequent relationships ever since the two broke up. The duo had even moved in together but they ended their relationship in January this year. News of Ranbir joining dating app Tinder was fueled with many speculating that he had been unfaithful to her during their relationship. His infidelity had been a focal point of Ranbir’s life ever since his ex-girlfriends Deepika Padukone and Sonam Kapoor spoke up about it at the chat show Koffee With Karan. On a similar note, Ranbir and Katrina faced questions about their personal life, with the attention on their films taken away.
