The poignantly beautiful Thanga Meenkal emerged the winner at the 61st National Film Awards today. The movie directed by Ram, swept the Best Tamil Film award along with awards for Best Lyrics (Ananda Yaazhai Meettugirai written by Na Muthukumar) and Best Child Artiste (bagged by for Sadhana). Other prominent ones were the Best Actor award, shared by the Shahid star Rajkumar Rao and Suraj Venjaramoodu for Malayalam film Perariyathavar.
