The Flash, Supergirl, DC’s Legends of Tomorrow, Arrow, and Gotham are the five new DC Comic titles whose streaming rights have been acquired by Amazon Prime Video, the streaming giant announced in a statement on Saturday.
According to the statement, Flash and Supergirl will be launched on May 24 and May 31 respectively with DC’s Legends of Tomorrow, Arrow and Gotham following soon after.
The Flash
The American superhero television series developed by Greg Berlanti, Andrew Kreisberg, and Geoff Johns, is based on DC Comics character the Flash, a costumed superhero crime-fighter with the power to move at superhuman speeds.
Described as a journey to battle evil, the series revolves around the central character Barry Allen, a central police forensic who meets with a massive particle accelerator explosion accident. According to the statement, the plot reads, “Nine months later, Allen wakes up from the coma discovering that the blast has given him the power of super speed. However, he learns that many more have also been affected by the event but chose to use their powers for evil. Taking on the role of a hero, Barry dedicates himself to fighting against such threats as the superhero The Flash.”
Supergirl
The title character created by Otto Binder and Al Plastino with Melissa Benoist is a costumed superheroine who is Superman‘s cousin and one of the last surviving Kryptonians.
According to the statement, the series’s plot reads, “Escaping a fateful Kryptonian blast, Kara along with her cousin is sent to earth. In a turn of events, she is diverted to a timeless phantom zone before finally reaching earth and finding out her cousin is the infamous Superman. Stuck at a dead-end job, a critical crisis stirs Kara’s veiled Kryptonian powers and she is inspired to use them for the better. Introduced to a secret world of the Department of Extra-Normal Operations, Supergirl sets on her way to save planet earth.”

DC’s Legends of Tomorrow
It is a spin-off featuring characters introduced in Arrow and The Flash along with new characters. DC’s Legends of Tomorrow is the fourth series in the Arrowverse, fictional universe, after Arrow, The Flash, and Supergirl.
According to the statement, the plot revolves around the character Rip Hunter, played by Arthur Darvill, who is tasked with assembling a disparate group of both heroes and villains to confront an unstoppable threat – one in which not only is the planet at stake, but all of time itself. Having seen the future, desperately trying to prevent it from becoming a reality, he assembles a ragtag team that strives to defeat an immortal threat, unlike anything they have ever known,
Arrow
It is based on the DC Comics character Green Arrow, a costumed crime-fighter created by Mort Weisinger and George Papp.
The series’s eight seasons will soon stream on Amazon Prime Video. According to the statement, the plot reads, “Things take a turn for the worse when spoiled brat, Oliver Queen and his billionaire father are lost at sea. Their luxury yacht sinks and his father does not make it. Stranded on a foreign island, Oliver learns the reality of his father’s dealings by its inhabitants and embarks on a journey of change. Hardened and resolute to set things straight, he returns to his home city eliminating the ones who have plagued it with corruption.”

Gotham
The American action crime drama television series produced by Warner Bros. Television is based on characters featured in the Batman franchise like those of James Gordon and Bruce Wayne. Developed by Bruno Heller, all the five seasons of the series will soon stream on Amazon Prime Video.
According to the statement, the plot reads, “Thomas and Martha Wayne are murdered right before young Bruce Wayne’s eyes. The two detectives- James Gordon and his cynical partner, Harvey Bullock solve the case with ease. However, things are not as simple as they seem.
