The release of Thirumanam Enum Nikkah has been postponed yet again due to legal trouble. The Tamil Nadu Shia Muslims Organisation had reportedly filed a petition against the movie’s release because it ‘portrays Shia Muslims in a bad light’. The organisation’s spokesperson, Mr Ali Khan said, “we filed a complaint on May 20, but no proper action was taken. So we moved the court.” But this is not the first time that producer Aascar Ravichandran has made a movie that hurts the sentiments of TN Muslims, he added. “Even the Vijay movie Velayudham had some objectionable content. We let it go then but this time, we won’t stand for it!”
The High Court has issued a notice to Aascar Films and has given them two weeks’ time to reply to the case.
