Child actor Raghavan of Sethupathi and Power Paandi fame is the lead star in the upcoming children’s horror film Thooven. The movie is directed by Pallava Suresh, and RS Rajprathap is the composer.
The film’s teaser released recently shows Raghavan venturing out of his house alone in the dead of night. He comes face-to-face with people in masks, dogs and women with painted faces, and stands outside deserted arch-ways. The blue tone and the moonlight add to the eerie mood. When the music builds and the cuts get faster, we see other characters, a fire and some children fleeing, and also a person who is questioned by the media.
Raghavan’s curiosity doesn’t let him miss any of these details, and he even stands atop a tank overlooking his town in one of the scenes. Like most children’s horror films, this movie centres around the hero and his friends, and their determination to find out what’s happening.
Actors Dheena, Santhana Bharathy, Santhosh and Haritha have important roles in the film produced by JJ Naresh Kumar and MPN Baskar for the banner Big 3 Pictures.

Raghavan’s screen outings include his turn as Mara, Vijay Sethupathi and Remya Nambeesan’s son in the 2016 film Sethupathi by director SU Arun. His role as Rajkiran’s grandson in Power Paandi (2017) was also memorable. In an interview, he said that he started acting in films after directors watched his videos uploaded by his father on YouTube.
The release day for Thooven is yet to be announced.
