A senior police official, speaking to Silverscreen on the condition of anonymity, said “They had said that if the sum was not paid, they would kidnap and physically harm the family members. While Suma first ignored the calls, she subsequently registered a complaint. We then spoke to the three men pretending to be members of the family and asked them to come to a place unarmed. They believed us and came there, and we arrested them. The three men include Thirumalai, Harris’ father’s driver and his two accomplices named Arunachala Pandian and Muthukrishnan. All three of them hail from Tirunelveli.”
