Trisha Clarifies on Engagement Rumours

Trisha Krishnan has spoken out against reports that she is engaged to be married to producer Varun Manian. In an interview to The Times of India, the actress has said, “No, I am not engaged. There is no reason for me to hide it. I cannot get engaged all of a sudden. I have a responsibility to inform my producers and the people I work with. And most importantly, there is no need for me to get engaged secretly. Engagement is a happy occasion and no girl will hide it. So, why would I?” While a photo of the couple made rounds on social media last week, Trisha further clarified, “As another person and his family are involved, I cannot say much about it now. Just posing with your friend doesn’t mean that you are engaged to him. I know Varun and he is my friend, but, it’s too early to say anything now.”

She also brushed away reports that talked about her break-up with actor Rana Daggubati. “When I have not admitted to being in a relationship with someone, and if people say I am out of it, why should I comment on it now? It was insignificant at that time, and even more insignificant now to talk about it. It is as simple as that.” The actress though, did not entirely rule out the possibility of getting married soon. “I would love to get married. But I have to feel it in my head and heart to get married to someone. Only when I feel that way, I will take a call.”

The actress’s next release is Yennai Arindhaalin which she plays Ajith’s love interest. The film is slated for a Pongal 2015 release.
