U/A Certificate for Madras

Madras was censored with a U/A certificate yesterday. According to the publicist, the film has scenes of a ‘slightly violent’ nature, and the U/A tag was expected by the team. The film is scheduled to release on September 26 and will go head-to-head with the cricket drama, Jeeva.

Starring Karthi and Catherine Tresa, the movie follows a young man from North Madras and the trouble that he gets into with the local politicos.

The trailer was launched earlier this year and has been received well by the audience. Santhosh Narayanan’s beautiful soundtrack has also made sure that Madras is one of the most talked about films in recent times.

Directed by Attakathi fame Ranjith, the film began in October last year, and was wrapped up two months ago.
