The Ulkuthu team plans to complete the film’s shoot on a 45 day non-stop schedule, and director Caarthick Raju of Thirudan Police feels the time frame will definitely be a challenge. The story revolves around the lives of fishermen, set in the backdrop of locations in Nagercoil. Raju believes that the culture of Nagercoil would enhance the beauty of the movie, and plans to shoot in the hilly areas, grasslands, and the sea nearby.
Ulkuthu features a lead cast of Attakathi Dinesh and Nandita, who are co-leading for the second time after the success of Attakathi. The supporting cast includes Bala Saravanan, John Vijay, Sharat, and Sriman. Stunt director Dilip Subbarayan will also play an integral role in the movie Ulkuthu is produced by Kenanya Films and will have music composed by Justin Prabakaran of Pannaiyarum Padminiyum fame.
