Actor STR has confirmed that debutant director Vijay Chander’s Vaalu will release on August 14. STR also said that the legal issues Vaalu had been embroiled in have been resolved. Paper advertisements bearing the release date as well as promotional advertisements on TV will be released and aired tomorrow.

A twitter war broke out yesterday, between STR’s fans and fans of Udhayanidhi Stalin, with the former alleging that Stalin had threatened theatre owners, demanding that they block the main screens for Arya’s Vasuvum Saravananum Onna Padichavanga, which is releasing on the same day. In response, both Udhayanidhi Stalin and STR tweeted requests to their fans to remain calm.
Vaalu’s release has had a tumultuous journey, having faced setbacks for over a year due to the six legal cases filed against it. Starring STR, Hansika and Santhanam, Vaalu is a romantic comedy produced by NIC Arts.
