Director Vetrimaaran’s Vada Chennai starring Dhanush and Samantha in lead roles is officially on the floors today. The pooja of the film was held today. The film chronicles 30 years of a gangster’s life, where Dhanush plays the gangster. It was earlier reported that the film will be made in two parts. But Dhanush has announced today that the film will be a trilogy. The film will also have Andrea Jeremiah and Daniel Balaji playing integral characters. While it was speculated that Jiiva or Vijay Sethupathi might also be a part of this film, there has been no confirmation yet.
Vada Chennai was announced early last year but kept running into delays due to Dhanush’s other acting commitments. Santhosh Narayanan will compose music for this film. This is Dhanush’s third film after Polladhavan and Aadukalam under Vetrimaaran’s direction. Lyca Prodcutions will co-produce the film along with Dhanush’s Wunderbar Studios.
