‘Veere Di Wedding’ Makers To Opt For An ‘A’ Certificate From Censor Board

Kareena Kapoor Khan’s comeback vehicle Veere Di Wedding is one of the highly awaited films of 2018. People are excited to see a rather interesting cast on screen that includes Sonam Kapoor, Swara Bhaskar and Shikha Talsania. The film is supposed to be on the lines of Sex And The City meets Bridesmaids with sexual innuendos and expletives as well.

According to a report in a leading daily, the makers were asked to tweak the film to target college-going audiences and teenagers, but instead of doing that, they are applying for an ‘A’ certification from the Censor Board. The makers are pitching for an adult certificate as they know that the film isn’t really targeted towards children or family audiences, and also to avoid any disagreement with the CBFC.

Recently Kareena spoke to the media about the film, “It’s a different kind of movie. It’s a story of four friends. It’s not the typical boy-meets-girl romance which I think I’ve done so much of. So I thought this should be different. It’s a small film, made by women. The producers are women – Rhea (Kapoor) and Ekta (Kapoor). I think it’s a special film and people will appreciate it.”

Directed by Shashanka Ghosh and music by Rishi Rich and Sajid-Wajid, the film is slated for a June release this year.
