Vendhar Movies has issued an official statement denying reports that Lingaa had bombed at the box office. Recently, a couple of distributors from Tamil Nadu alleged that the Rajinikanth starrer had failed to do well and demanded compensation for the loss that they had incurred.

T Siva of Vendhar Movies came out with a statement last night, declaring the reports false, and requesting the audience and media not to fall for them. “Official box office numbers will be made available only by us. The so-called distributors who made false claims are not even real. This is all a sham.”
He also acknowledged that the film had experienced a dip in profits and attributed it to the timing of the film’s release. “Half yearly exams are going on right now and also, the film released in more than 600 theatres – a first for a Tamil film. But now, hordes of families are watching it in theatres. We expect the movie to reach greater heights soon.”
