Plans for a Telugu remake of Bollywood film Vicky Donor have finally been revived, years after the original plans had been shelved. While official confirmation is awaited, according to well-placed sources, the film will feature actor Sumanth and is likely to begin production fairly soon.
In 2012, filmmaker Madhura Sreedhar had bought the remake rights for the film, and re-titled it Dhaana Karna. He had also recorded a few songs before subsequently becoming busy with casting. The original plans had cast Varun Sandesh in the lead. Vicky Donor was Bollywood actor John Abraham’s debut production venture. The film is a light-hearted take on the taboos attached to infertility, sperm donation, and artificial insemination.
