Actor Vijay Deverakonda and filmmaker Sukumar will soon collaborate for a multilingual film that is yet to be titled, the actor announced on Monday. The project marks the very first collaboration between the actor and director.
While posting the announcement on social media, Deverakonda promised the audience “memorable cinema”.
“Sukumar – Vijay Deverakonda The actor in me is super excited. The audience in me is celebrating! We guarantee you memorable Cinema.. I can’t wait to be on set with Sukku sirrr. Happy birthday Kedar, you’ve been a good friend and you work extremely hard,” Vijay Deverakonda wrote on Twitter.
The film will be bankrolled under the Falcon Creations banner, headed by Kedar Selagamsetty. According to the makers, the project will be a “pan India” film.
Deverakonda, who has appeared in films like Arjun Reddy, Dear Comrade, Geetha Govindam, was last seen in World Famous Lover.
Sukumar has directed movies such as Rangasthalam (starring Ram Charan and Samantha Akkineni), 1 – Nenokkadine (starring Kriti Sanon and Mahesh Babu) and Arya (starring Anu Mehta and Allu Arjun).

Deverakonda is currently working on director Puri Jagannadh’s film, tentatively titled Fighter. The film is being shot in both Telugu and Hindi and marks the very first collaboration between the actor and Jagannadh. Fighter will also mark Deverakonda’s debut in Bollywood.
Apart from Deverakonda, the film also stars Ananya Panday who made her acting debut with Student Of The Year 2 in 2019 and Ramya Krishnan. In Telugu, the film will be bankrolled under the Charmme Kaur and Puri Connects banner and in Hindi, the film will be presented by filmmaker and producer Karan Johar under the Dharma Productions banner. In Fighter, Deverakonda plays the role of a fighter with a stutter. The film was initially slated for a summer 2020 release but no new official release date has been announced yet.
