With various speculations about the plot of the Vijay-starrer Thalapathy 63 doing rounds, actor Vijay has revealed some important details about the film.
In a casual conversation with Rakesh Gowthaman, the owner of the popular Vettri Theatres in Chennai, Vijay opened up about the film. He responded to a question by Rakesh and said that Thalapathy 63 was unlike his two previous ventures (Sarkar and Mersal), and was on a lighter note. The actor further added that he himself was bored to keep addressing the media in his films.

The shooting for director Atlee’s Thalapathy 63 is on full-swing, with many fans of actor Vijay reportedly even following him to the shooting spots.
During one such instance, a few excited fans took their bike and followed Vijay’s car shouting ‘Thalaiva Thalaiva’. Vijay lowered the car’s window and requested the students to go back and not follow him. In another incident, a group of fans who were standing on a fence to meet the actor, fell on the other side and were caught by the actor and a few other people. Videos of the two incidents have gone viral.
Meanwhile, Soundara Raja recently joined the cast of Thalapathy 63. The actor, who has previously worked on films like Dharmadurai, Sundarapandian and Kadaikutty Singam, took to his Twitter handle to announce the news.

In mid-February, gaana singer and Super Singer participant Kapish Poovaiyaar was also said to have joined the cast. This was when Chennai’s famous Napier’s bridge was recreated at a popular studio in the city for the shoot. Some work for the film was also taking place at Binny mills.
Thalapathy 63 is reportedly not a regular sports drama, but an investigative thriller with a sports backdrop. AR Rahman is the music composer for the project, and Vivek is the lyricist.
This is the actor’s third collaboration with director Atlee after Theri and Mersal, both big-budget films. It features a big star cast with Nayanathara, Kathir, Vivekh, Yogi Babu and others. The film is produced by Archana Kalapthi under the banner of AGS Entertainments.
For the film, Atlee has retained the Mersal team – editor Antony Ruben, stunt director Anal Arasu, and art director Muthuraj. Sources suggest that Aalaporaan Tamizhan, a song from Mersal, is the title being considered.
