Ever since the official announcement about Seethakathi, starring Vijay Sethupathi, was made in April, people have been waiting for news of the film, to be directed by Balaji Tharaneetharan of Naduvula Konjam Pakkatha Kaanom (NKPK) fame. Now, we know that the team will begin shooting with Vijay Sethupathi from this month-end in Chennai.
A source tells Silverscreen, “Vijay Sethupathi plays a theatre artiste in this film, and the shoot will commence from July 24. The team will film in live locations in Chennai.”

The film also stars veteran actress Archana in a supporting role. Reportedly, though Vijay Sethupathi will have lesser screenspace, the film revolves around his character.
This is the second time Vijay Sethupathi and Balaji Tharaneetharan team up after NKPK. Balaji Tharaneetharan’s second film, Oru Pakka Kathai, starring Kalidas Jayaram and Megha Aakash, is yet to hit the screens. Sources say the film has recently been certified, and that the release date will be announced shortly.
Vijay Sethupathi is currently working on Karuppan, 96, Aneethi Kathaigal and Oru Nalla Naal Paarthu Solren.
