Vijay Sethupathi, who wrote the script for Orange Mittai, is set to write the screenplay and dialogues for Sanjeev’s film. The film will feature the director’s brother Vikranth alongside Vishnu Vishal.
Speaking to Silverscreen, Vishnu Vishal confirmed that Vijay Sethupathi will be writing for the film and that the protagonists will be “rough characters”: “It is a sports film. Both Vikranth and I will be undergoing four months of training for the film.” The actor then refuted rumours that the film is based on football and that the story is set in North Chennai.
The yet-to-be-titled film is expected to go on floors by August. The movie will have two female leads. Also, both protagonists will have strong father characters. “Half of the movie will be shot abroad,” added Vishnu Vishal. The official launch of the movie has been scheduled for April 14.

It was announced last October that Sethupathi had agreed to write the dialogues for Sanjeev’s film that had Vikranth as a solo lead. In a statement to the press, director Sanjeev had said, “I happened to meet Vijay Sethupathi sir some years back. I told him the gist of the story. After listening to it, he said he liked it and that it would be apt for Vikranth. Not just that, he also asked if he could write the dialogues for the film. I wondered how he would be able to do that as he is quite busy, but he said we can work during the spare time he has.”

The film was later scrapped due to unknown reasons.
Vijay Sethupathi was last seen in Rajinikanth’s Petta where he played the main antagonist. He has a slew of projects lined up for release this year. He has Thiagaraja Kumararaja’s Super Deluxe and Arun Kumar’s Sindhubaadh gearing up for release.
Super Deluxe, which releases on the 29th of this month, has the actor playing the role of a transgender person. Sindhubaadh is an action thriller with its story set in Thenkasi and Malaysia.
The actor will make his Telugu debut this year with Chiranjeevi’s Sye Raa Narasimha Reddy. He is also set to make his Malayalam debut opposite Jayaram in Marconi Mathai.
