Vijay Sethupathi has signed a film with director Vijay Chandar, who last worked on the Vikram starrer Sketch. Said to be a commercial family entertainer, the film will focus on the life of the people in North Madras, similar to Sketch.
The director told The Indian Express, “North Madras played a key role in my previous film, and so it does in my next film. Usually, North Chennai has a different look from other parts of the city — be it in terms of the place or the people. There’s so much to explore further.”
“I have been working on this script even before the release of Sketch. Sethu anna and I often bounce off ideas. When I approached him with this one, he liked it. He will be get a makeover in this film, with loads of action sequences. Anal Arasu has lot of interesting ideas about presenting the stunt sequences in a never-seen-before way,” he further said about the film.
While the details regarding the remaining cast and crew is a suspense, it has been announced that actor Soori will join the film. This marks his third collaboration with Sethupathi, after Sundarapandiyan and Rummy.

Meanwhile, it has been reported that actors Nivetha Pethuraj and Raashi Khanna will play pivotal roles with equal screen space in the film. Produced by Vijaya Productions, the film will have music composed by D Imman, and cinematography by Velraj. The shoot will commence from March.
On the work front, Vijay Sethupathi has Sindhubaadh with SU Arunkumar, Maamanithan with Seenu Ramasamy, and Thiagarajan Kumararaja’s Super Deluxe in various stages of production. The actor will be making his Malayalam debut with Marconi Mathai, also starring Jayaram. In the upcoming Telugu film Sye Raa Narasimha Reddy, he plays the freedom fighter Raaja Pandi.
