Singer Vijay Yesudas is all set to make his acting debut in Balaji Mohan’s upcoming comedy flick Maari, which has Dhanush and Kajal Agarwal in lead roles.

According to a Dinamalar report, the singer will be seen in a pivotal role as a cop in the movie, the shooting of which has already started in Chennai. Robo Shankar and Kaali Venkat will be seen in supporting roles in Maari, while Anirudh Ravichander will be composing the tunes.
The movie is jointly produced by Dhanush’s Wunderbar Films and Radikaa Sarath Kumar’s Magic Frames.
Vijay is the latest musician to step into acting. Music composer GV Prakash Kumar recently made his acting debut in Darling. SP Balasubramanyam, Unni Menon and Andrea Jeremiah are other musicians who have had a successful acting career.
