The script of Vijay’s 61st film was locked yesterday. Directed by Atlee, the film will be produced by Thenandal Films.

AR Rahman is likely to compose for this film. Further, Atlee is expected to rope in his close associate George C Williams to handle the cinematography, Anthony Ruben will be the film’s editor.
Nayanthara is currently the first choice for the film’s female lead. Kajal Aggarwal is likely to be cast in a major role in the project.
According to some reports, portions of the film will be shot abroad.
Vijay 61 is Vijay’s second film with Atlee, after the police thriller Theri.
Vijay is currently shooting for Bairavaa, his 60th film, with actress Keerthy Suresh. Bairavaa is being directed by Bharathan (Azhaga Tamizh Magan).
Filming for Vijay 61 will begin in early 2017.
