Last seen in the cop thriller Thupakki Munai, Vikram Prabhu is now said to have signed his next with debut director Dhanasekar, an erstwhile assistant of Mani Ratnam.
According to various reports, Vikram Prabhu plays one of the leads in the film. GV Prakash Kumar is the primary lead actor, and it is reported that Aishwarya Rajesh has signed on to play his sister. Vikram Prabhu may be paired opposite Aishwarya Rajesh in the film.
According to a report in The Cinema Express, Madonna Sebastian also plays the lead. She might be seen opposite GV Prakash. However, there is no confirmation on these speculations yet.
Produced by Mani Ratnam’s Madras Talkies, the untitled project has music by 96-fame Govind Vasantha. Interestingly, Madras Talkies has bankrolled two films so far, both of which are not Mani Ratnam’s directorials. They produced Mani Ratnam’s former associates Azhagam Perumal’s Dumm Dumm Dumm and Susi Ganeshan’s Five Star.
The upcoming movie is co-written by Mani Ratnam. The film will go on floors soon, according to a source in a report. “The story was originally planned to be a Mani Ratnam directorial. However, he couldn’t take it up due to his commitments for Ponniyin Selvan. This story produced by his venture is a unique script that will cater to the audience across sections,” the source said.
