Vikram Vedha is expected to release on July 21. The film’s producer Sashikanth is said to be hard at work to make sure the Pushkar-Gayathri film hits theatres on the scheduled release date.
If things work in Sashikanth’s favour, this film will go head-to-head with Sekhar Kammula’s Fidaa, and Hip Hop Tamizha Aadhi’s Meesaya Murukku at the box office.
The film has Madhavan, Vijay Sethupathi in lead roles. Kirumi fame Kathir, Varalakshmi Sarathkumar and Shraddha Srinath all have pivotal roles in this gangster film set in North Madras.

Madhavan had earlier said that he’d love to take the film to Bollywood. “Yes, my friends from Bollywood have watched the trailer and praised Vijay Sethupathi and music composer Sam. I would loved to take the film there (Bollywood). Since Vikram Vedha is completely set in North Chennai, I’m not sure how to tweak it to match their sensibilities.”
