It is not known exactly what triggered Thiru’s decision to delay Garuda. According to unconfirmed reports, the film failed to take off due to production issues. A source close to the director tells us that the film will begin early next year, once the financial aspects of the project have been sorted out.
Garuda has Kajal Aggarwal in the lead role and music composed by debutant C.Girinadh. The music director has already worked with the actor to compose a song called the ‘Spirit of Chennai‘. The film is said to be an action-thriller. The director also announced that the film will wrap up shooting in 60 days flat. The film is produced by Silverline Film Factory. Director Thiru has previously worked in Theeratha Vilayattu Pillai, Samar and Naan Sigappu Manithan.

Meanwhile, it was announced last month that Vikram has teamed up with director Hari for Saamy 2, the sequel to the cult cop film Saamy. With Garuda being delayed, there are chances that the actor might start working on the sequel instead. It has also been reported that director Hari is in the final stretch of shoot for Suriya starrer Singham 3.
Saamy 2 is produced by Shibu Thameens and will have music by Harris Jayaraj.
