Director Vetrimaaran’s film, Visaranai will release worldwide on January 29. The film has been awarded a ‘U/A’ certificate. Jointly produced by Vetri Maaran and Dhanush, Visaranai is a thriller film, based on Auto Chandran’s novel Lock Up. Visaranai received critical acclaim at the prestigious Venice Film Festival and the Jio MAMI Film Festival in Mumbai. The festival version of Visaranai did not have any background music. However, Vetrimaaran felt the theatrical version couldn’t be released without background music. Music director GV Prakash Kumar is currently working on the background music for the film

Visaranai, stars Attakathi Dinesh, Anandhi, Aadukalam Murugadoss, Samuthirakani and Kishore, and will be distributed by Lyca Productions.
Visaranai is likely to face competition from another critically acclaimed film releasing on January 29, Irudhi Sutru, which stars Madhavan and newcomer Ritika Singh.
