Filmmaker Vishal Bhardwaj recently announced that filming of his project has been delayed as Deepika Padukone is unwell and Irrfan Khan is down with jaundice. The film was supposed to go on floors as soon as Deepika was done with Padmaavat.
The director, however, refuted rumours that the movie is a biopic on female gangster ‘Sapna Didi’. While he has admitted that it is indeed inspired from Hussain Zaidi’s critically acclaimed book ‘Mafia Queens Of Mumbai’, the script has been rehashed and the characters have been developed and the storylines have also been changed.
Vishal Bhardwaj took to twitter to announce the same.
Pushing back film by a few months, @irrfank down with jaundice and @deepikapadukone with resurfaced back issue caused during Padmaavat. While prepping, was transported to Maqbool days. Stunning look tests, can’t wait to start shoot. Sending pyaar & duaaen to my Ustara and Afshan.

This is the second time that Deepika and Irrfan have been paired together. They were earlier cast together in Shoojit Sircar’s Piku, a quirky oddball comedy, which also starred Amitabh Bachchan.
