Actor and director Prabhu Deva will direct a Tamil movie after a gap of six years. The movie has been titled Karuppu Raja Vellai Raja (KRVR) and will star Vishal, Karthi, and Sayyesha Saigal. Speaking at the film’s launch, Vishal said the film was about two friends with contrasting characters, and would be a memorable film reminiscent of Sholay.
He said, as reported by Deccan Chronicle, “It is like Sholay, not in terms of content, but because of it’s high-entertaining quotient.” This is Vishal’s second collaboration with Prabhu Deva.
Prabhu Deva also clarified that the film would not have anything to do with colour, but would be “a war between ahimsa (non-violence) and violence”.
Speaking at the same event, Karthi said the two heroes had to be good friends to share that kind of screen-space in a movie. He said, “Though I didn’t know Vishal well before, it was during the Nadigar Sangam elections that we became close.” Karthi also said that his character would have shades of comedy and unlike Vishal’s character.

Vishal, who was recently elected President of the Tamil Nadu Producers Council (TFPC), also praised co-star Sayyesha Saigal’s dance skills. “Karthi and I had an opportunity to watch one of her dance performances also! Karthi has a dance routine with her in KRVR and it is going to be tough for him,” he joked.
For her part, Sayyesha said she was thrilled to have a song choreographed by Prabhu Deva. She said, “The first time I met Prabhudheva sir was when he choreographed my song. It was like a dream come true! And now, it is all the more so amazing being part of his directorial venture.”
Vishal has said that a part of their salaries would be donated to the Nadigar Sangam building fund.
