Vishal’s Malayalam debut has been titled Villain.
When contacted, Vishal refuted reports that said he was playing the villain in the film: “The film itself is called Villain. It’s about how everybody becomes a villain at some point of time. It has a huge cast and nobody really plays the hero or villain.”

The film has been directed by B Unnikrishnan, and has stars like Srikanth and Hansika Motwani in important roles. Mohanlal is the lead in this film, which is said to be an investigative thriller. The project marks Unnikrishnan and Mohanlal’s fourth movie together.
The first look of the film featuring Mohanlal was released recently to much social media appreciation.
Villain is the latest to employ artistes from other film industries. This tactic allows the makers to promote the film in other languages as well, and get wider release.
The makers hope to release this film by August this year.
