Actor Vishal’s Sandakozhi 2 will finally go on floors on August 31, reports The Times of India. The report states that a huge set is being built in the city.

“The film will be shot for 40 days at a stretch. It’s being planned as a Sankranti release next year,” a source has told the ToI

The film, directed by Lingusamy, was delayed quite a bit since its announcement in 2015. The project was also shelved briefly last year after a misunderstanding between the director and the lead actor. There were also reports of the film being cancelled, but that was soon rubbished.

Lingusamy, who also helmed the original in 2005, is said to have postponed his bilingual production with Allu Arjun, to finish this much-delayed film.

Vishal and Keerthy Suresh play the lead roles in the film. Other actors include Raj Kiran and Varalaxmi Sarath Kumar, with music by D Imman. The film is bankrolled by Vishal’s ‘Vishal Film Factory’.
