A compound wall near AVM Rajeshwari collapsed yesterday, killing one person and injuring two others. Due to heavy rainfall the previous night, people had gathered near the wall for shelter, and were caught under the debris. The person who died was Chinna, a 22-year old road-side shop employee.
The wall collapsed at approximately 9:45 pm, and the injured were rushed to the Kilpauk Medical College hospital in the city. Reportedly, the wall belonged to the plot adjacent to the theatre. KK Nagar police officials have said that the details of the land would be traced and the owner questioned today, according to a TOI report.
