Joker, starring Joaquin Phoenix, released in October, last year. Directed by Todd Phillips, the film did well in the Indian market. The film was recently nominated for 11 Oscars, including Best Actor, Best Film and Best Director. Phoenix won the Best Actor award for the role at both the Golden Globes and the Screen Actor’s Guild awards.
Considering all these factors, Warner Bros., has decided to release the film again for Indian audiences on 14 February, four days after the Oscar awards are telecast.

Usually, Oscar-nominated films don’t do the numbers that most films do. However, Joker was an exception. The makers are counting on the continued buzz around the film with its Oscar nominations to help new audiences, as well as, repeat audiences come in to theatres to watch the film.
Joker will re-release in the cities of Mumbai, New Delhi, Bengaluru, Gurgaon, Noida, Chennai, Kolkata, Pune, Ernakulam, Hyderabad, Jaipur, Mysore, Ahmedabad, Coimbatore and few others.
The film has also been nominated for Cinematography, Costume Design, Sound Mixing, Sound Editing, Original Score, Film Editing, Best Adapted Screenplay and Best Make Up And Hairstyling.
