Actors Alia Bhatt, Ranveer Singh, and Akshay Kumar have all resumed work on their held-up projects post the announcement of Covid-19 lockdown relaxations by several state governments.
Bhatt, along with co-star Shefali Shah, on Monday, announced that they have begun prepping for their upcoming project, Darlings. The film, which will be Bhatt’s first production venture, also stars Roshan Mathew and Vijay Varma. It was announced in March.
Similarly, Singh too, on Tuesday, started shooting for an upcoming big project. According to a report by ANI, the actor started shooting for a “huge project that has been kept under wraps”. A source told the news portal that details of this film will be announced soon.
Kumar, who has several projects lined up, started his next, Raksha Bandhan, with director Aanand L Rai on Monday. The film, which also stars Bhumi Pednekar, is Kumar’s second collaboration with Rai.
Actor Varun Dhawan too, according to our sources, is all set to start filming the remaining portions of his upcoming film Bhediya, co-starring Kriti Sanon. The film, which is being directed by Amar Kaushik, had earlier completed its first schedule in Arunachal Pradesh.
All of this comes after almost a month-long strict lockdown in the wake of the second wave of Covid-19 during which television and film shoots in Maharashtra and other parts of the country were halted.
However, on June 6 Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray announced that shootings can be resumed during specified restricted timings and in bio bubbles as proposed in the unlock Mumbai plan. This decision prompted several filmmakers to resume the shoots of their films, which had been stalled due to the ongoing pandemic.
