Sarath Kumar: “I Will Oppose Rajinikanth’s Party When He Enters Politics”

Sarath Kumar has said that he would not support Rajinikanth if he enters politics. The 62-year-old actor chose not to reveal the reason behind his stance though.  Sarath’s comments offended Rajinikanth fans, who have long waited for their idol to enter politics.

Once Sarath’s comments were made public, protests were held all over Tamil Nadu. During one such protest in Vellore, effigies of the actor were reportedly burnt.

Sarath took to Twitter to clarify, and blamed the media for ‘misinterpreting’ his comments.

Sarath also said: “I said that I will oppose Rajinikanth’s party when he enters politics. I did not call Rajinikanth unfit. He is a close friend of mine.”

Meanwhile, the Superstar himself is yet to break his long-drawn silence on politics. The newly appointed editor of Thuglak magazine, S Gurumurthy, urged the actor to join politics at a recent event. “Rajinikanth won’t enter politics just because I want him to. He should take the decision himself. People who will do good for Tamil Nadu should join politics,” he said.
