Yogi B is a Malaysian HipHop music artist who rose to popularity with his album Vallavan in 2009 with collaboration of Natchatra. The remixed version of the Madai Thiranthu song from the film Nizhalgal became an instant hit. He and his band called Kavidhai Gundargal sang their first Kollywood song, ‘Happy New Year’, composed by Vidyasagar, for the movie Kuruvi. Their next was ‘Engeyum Eppothum’ for the movie Polladhavan. He has also collaborated with AR Rahman for the films Ghajini and Endhiran.
AK 57 went on floors late October, with scenes being shot in locales across Europe. Siruthai Siva, who directed Ajith’s last two films Veeram and Vedalam, is directing this film too. Unlike the last two films which were based in India, AK57 is reported to be an international spy thriller.
Unconfirmed reports suggest that Ajith will play the role of an Interpol officer. The film has Kajal Aggarwal and Akshara Haasan in pivotal roles, with Bollywood actor Vivek Oberoi making his Tamil debut as the film’s antagonist.
Anirudh Ravichander, who scored the music of Vedalam, is the composer for AK57. The film is produced by TG Thyagarajan and is slated for an April 2017 release.
