Yogi Babu will turn screenwriter for his next project, to be directed by newcomer Rajasekar, a former assistant of Siva Manasula Sakthi-fame M Rajesh. Producer Rahul, who has worked on box-office hits such as Ajith-starrers Vivegam and Viswasam, is bankrolling this project under Remo Pictures.
Yogi Babu’s manager confirmed the news to Silverscreen but said he was not in a position to reveal more about the project at this point. Further details will be shared soon after the movie is announced. Yogi Babu will also be writing the dialogues and story for this film.
Meanwhile, it was reported recently that he has signed up for the newly-announced Cocktail, directed by debutant Ra Vijaya Murugan, and produced by cinematographer-turned-producer PG Muthiah of PG Media Works. Several reports stated that Yogi Babu will play the film’s lead actor, as a stylist who owns a dog saloon. A foreign actor reportedly stars opposite him, and the story is comedy-entertainer about how a group of friends get framed for a murder and escape from their situation with the help of the bird. This is said to be India’s first film featuring cockatoo, a bird belonging to the parrot family. The actor’s manager however said that no such project has been finalised by Yogi Babu. The film went on floors recently, and features debut artists on the technical team.

Yogi Babu has several projects lined up for release. He has been one of the busiest actors in Tamil cinema. The actor is currently gearing up for the release of Dharma Prabhu, and is busy with dubbing work for the film. Earlier this month, he wrapped up shoot for Zombie, the horror-comedy directed by Bhuvan R Nullan. The film is likely to release towards the end of May or beginning of June.
The actor is currently shooting for Gurkha, and also has films such as Shaitan Ka Bachcha, 100% Kadhal, Aalukku Paathi 50/50, Sathuranga Vettai 2, Nindru Kolvaan and Maanik up for release.
He was last seen in Airaa, and Kuppathu Raja which released last week.
