The United Nations has honoured filmmaker Aishwarya Dhanush by appointing her as United Nations Women’s Goodwill Ambassador for South India. The announcement was done at a star hotel in Chennai on Monday. The appointment was followed by a discussion on furthering gender equality and women’s empowerment in India. Proud members of Aishwarya’s family – Dhanush, Soundarya and Latha Rajinikanth, were among the event attendees. Also present were filmmaker Kiruthiga Udhayanidhi and actor Sriya Reddy.
