Young author Isha Nagappan’s latest book, Just another teenage girl, was launched by actress Gauthami on Friday at Chennai’s Amethyst Cafe. As the title suggests, the book follows the life of a teenage girl’s life.
This is the second book of 16-year-old Isha, who is currently pursuing her 11th grade in Chennai. She started writing at the age of four, and her first book, Alisha, was published in 2013.
Gauthami was all praises for the young writer. “It is every parent’s duty to nurture a child’s skills and dreams, ” she said. At the end of the event, the hosts made a donation of one lakh rupees to her Life Again foundation, an organisation which aids cancer patients.
An elated Isha Nagappan spoke about how she has evolved as a writer. “I feel responsible to voice my thoughts properly,” she said. “When I was writing my first book, Alisha, I enjoyed a sense of creative freedom since it wasn’t meant to be published. But this book, I knew right from the beginning that it was going to be published. This changed my writing process”, she said. “Writing has always been a part of my life, and it will continue to be a part of me for the rest of my life”, she added.
